Scenic Backcountry Treks
From the ponderosa pine-covered foothills of the Methow Valley to the
subalpine parklands of the North Cascades, llamas can carry your gear while
you enjoy the views.
Our mountain llamas were bred to hike in the highest mountains.
Ross Lake area, North Cascades
Pasayten Llama Packing became a member of the Washington Outfitter and Guides Association in 1992. Since then, we have led our llamas and enjoyed the company of hundreds of people along approximately 1500 miles of trail.

Our trips include mouth-watering meals, loop tours, drop camp trips, wildflower hikes, backcountry fishing and boundary trail trekking on the US-Canada border. Pre-planned or customized trips based on personal preference will be available beginning in 2009.
We place high importance on environmental awareness which includes providing camps in appropriate areas for both humans and llamas. Llamas are much gentler on the environment than horses or mules, offering a more earth-friendly alternative for those interested in hiking but not shouldering the load. On all our trips, our friendly guides enthusiastically share their expert knowledge of local flora, fauna, geology and of course the care and feeding of the llamas.
Our trips are designed to provide fun and exciting wilderness adventures for hikers of all ages and experience levels. Care is given to special requests and personal needs.
